Basic Policy

DataPick respects your privacy. We believe your data belongs to you and only you. All scraping, AI processing, and data storage happen entirely within your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's extension storage and IndexedDB:

Scrape configurations and templates (CSS selectors, column mappings, site URLs)
Extracted data and scrape history
Scheduled job settings
Extension preferences and settings
Cached AI model data (Transformers.js model weights for column labeling)

This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly initiate an export (e.g., Google Sheets).

On-Device AI Processing

DataPick uses Transformers.js to run a lightweight machine learning model (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) directly in your browser for AI-powered column labeling. The model is downloaded once from Hugging Face's CDN and cached locally in IndexedDB. All inference runs on your device. No page content or extracted data is sent to any AI service.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal information (name, email, etc.)
Browsing history or URLs you visit
Page content or extracted data
Cookies from websites you scrape
Location data
Analytics, telemetry, or tracking data
Keystroke or interaction logs

Google Sheets Export

When you choose to export data to Google Sheets, DataPick requests OAuth authorization through Chrome's identity API with the minimal scope (spreadsheets) required to create and write to a spreadsheet. This authorization is only requested when you explicitly click "Export to Google Sheets". DataPick does not read your existing spreadsheets. The OAuth token is managed by Chrome and can be revoked at any time through your Google Account settings.

External Services

DataPick uses ExtensionPay for Pro license purchase management only. Payment is processed by Stripe. DataPick only checks your license status (active or inactive) and does not access or store any payment details.

Website Access

DataPick requires broad host permissions (<all_urls>) because web scraping by nature requires injecting content scripts into any website the user wants to scrape. Despite this broad access, the extension does not read, collect, or transmit any page content to external servers. Content scripts are only injected when you actively use the scraping features on a specific page.

Data Deletion

To delete all data stored by DataPick, you can either:

Uninstall the extension (removes all local data)
Clear extension data via Chrome settings (Settings → Extensions → DataPick → Details → Clear data)
Use the "Clear All Data" option in DataPick's settings panel

Third Parties

We do not sell, share, or provide user data to third parties. The only data transmission occurs when you explicitly export to Google Sheets, in which case data is sent directly from your browser to Google's API.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Users will be notified of significant changes via extension updates.
